2 year anniversary dinner

Whel, Whel! Happy August, yall! I hope that you and your family are being safe during this crazy time! It’s hard to believe that we only have 2 months until Halloween! When I say Halloween, I mean all the stereotypical things that people think of!

The freaking Sanderson sisters.

Despite it being a holiday that I’m absolutely terrified of (I fear strangers/uninvited guests knocking at my door), I do look forward to the movies and our traditional pumpkin carving to the nightmare before Christmas soundtrack! I can always tell when it’s nearing the seasonal months because we celebrate an anniversary in August! Every year on our anniversary, my husband books a reservation at the restaurant we had our first date at. ❤️ Although we can frequent this restaurant anytime we please, we only eat there once a year and I refuse to accompany anyone else there. The restaurant has the perfect date night atmosphere and the food is absolutely delicious.

If you haven’t been, I highly recommend a visit. Keep in mind the portions are rather large and everything is amazing!

My husband and I also always try to do something memorable to celebrate our marriage. Last year we got tattoos but this year, we decided to do something a little different….

2020.

We. Got. A. Freaking. Puppy!!!

World meet George!!!

So, after Sammy passed, I was absolutely miserable. I was completely heartbroken and wanted another furbaby. Well, first, I wanted a cat and got super mad at my husband for not also wanting a cat. By the way, did I say I was allergic to cats?! I think I just wanted to fill the whole in my heart for Sam. I still love and miss him dearly but I was getting to where my sorrow was becoming unsafe. I was overeating to suppress the pain and having random bouts of depression. 💔 The pain of losing a pet is deep. It sucks but take it from me, they wouldn’t want to see you sad in life, they definitely wouldn’t want that for you after they are gone.

Let me pull myself together.

So, about the puppy. We adopted George from a rescue down the street from us! They have adoption events at petco every Saturday and we decided to just “go look”. We had looked at their animals online so we kind of had an idea of what they had to offer and what we wanted. I’ve always only had small 10 pound dogs but my husband wanted something bigger. After talking one night, I agreed that he could totally get a bigger dog and I would be perfectly open to experiencing life and sharing my love with someone larger! We woke up the next morning and went puppy browsing.

10 week photo ❤️

George was in a litter with two other siblings (Gilbert and Ginger). We found out that they were discovered in a rusted locked crate in the middle of the woods. 🥺 People can really be horrible and I hate that animals end up suffering because jerks won’t spay and neuter their pets! We just knew we had to have him. He was the calmest amongst his peers & looked quite shy. I always look for dogs that are mostly looked over! I instantly fell in love. This Saturday will make one week since his adoption into our furever family and “our hearts are so full”.

If you know me, you know I hate that phrase.

Well, I guess it’s time for me to wind down! Stay safe out there, love hard and pray often!
