My thoughts on Christmas…

First of all, how did we even get here? It seems like just yesterday I was teasing one of my girlfriends about how I was excited to start stressing people out on my Facebook with my Christmas countdown. However, now that I’m older, Christmas just feels different. Not different in a bad way, but more like Christmas in a “I can’t believe I’m a whole adult with my own family” kind of way.

No, seriously! I genuinely believe that the magic of Christmas when we were younger originated from our parents and the traditions they created to make it feel warm and inviting. I, too, have forced several traditions within my family. We endure pumpkin picking and carving in October, fighting for ornaments the day after Christmas, and watching a Charlie Brown Christmas in December. However, what truly defines how much we enjoy Christmas?

Get your cholesterol medication ready because it’s about to get cheesy.

Now, I’m not a doctor and I’ve never played one on TV, but I believe it’s the nostalgia that drives it. It’s the music that plays in stores and the twinkling lights on the tree. It’s hiding presents throughout your house, hoping no one stumbles upon them. It’s calling and checking on people, laughing for minutes (because in 2025, who even answers their phones anymore, right?) about how you lied about a gift you swore you weren’t getting that is currently under your trunk. Christmas is about seeing the joy on someone else’s face, and to me (the non-doctor), that’s what creates the warm feeling. I always look forward to this time of year, and I hope if Christmas makes you sad, you can find a way to replace your sadness with something happy. Even if that means you’re telling your neighbor that it’s quiet hours and you’re trying to sleep.

Oh yeah, One last important thing before I go!!

Please refrain from enrolling in limited-space gym memberships if your intention is to utilize the facility solely from January to March. ESPECIALLY IF YOU KNOW YOU DO NOT INTEND ON KEEPING YOUR NEW YEARS RESOLUTION. Because what do you mean the class is booked? I always come to this class!!

In all seriousness, I do hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I can’t wait to share “hypothetical” experiences, rants and family stories with you next year. 😜❤️
